RECYCLING

Recycling is a process of collecting, sorting/separating, cleaning and crushing into small particles of any already used product and converting them to reusable material. Proper recycling is one of the key components to combat issues such as pollution affecting the environment around us. Recycling also helps the economy by reusing some materials and reducing the consumption of Virgin materials.
Recycling is used on various products around the world and some of the key materials include:

  • Plastics: Most of the plastic materials used are not decomposable resulting in the need to recycle and reuse. When the plastic is reheated, it loses its original properties and becomes weak. While the recycled plastic may not be used for originally designed or intended product, it can be used in several other products where the original structural strength is not important. Some Plastic processors also add some percentage of recycled material to Virgin material to reduce the cost of the final product. Most commonly used waste materials are PET bottles, HDPE, PP, etc.
  • Glass: Glass also falls under the family of non-decomposable resulting in the need to recycle. The advantage of the glass is that, when recycled, it will not lose most of its original properties and purity.
  • Metals: Metals can be classified as Ferrous with Iron/Steel as the main ingredient and Non-Ferrous such as Aluminum, Copper, Brass, etc.

The miscellaneous items for Recycling are Automobile Rubber Tires, Batteries, Computers, Mobile phones, Corrugated boxes, Paper, Wooden pallets etc.
